The Oregon National Guard, working in conjunction with the National Guard Bureau, has been able to positively resolve 10 Oregon bonus issues to include the bonus complication of PFC Chelsea Wells, who is now with the Georgia National Guard.

The number of Oregon bonus issues in the 2007 to 2008 time frame totaled 19, including that of PFC Wells.

The 10, which have been resolved, all fell into the same category where individual bonus conditions did not correspond with the national level database while upgrading computer systems.

Although the additional nine bonus complications identified in Oregon may fall into the same category, they are being addressed on an individual basis. These bonuses will be awarded to those who have met the obligations of their enlistment criteria.

“There is no doubt that this is a national level issue,” said Maj. Gen. Raymond F. Rees, The Adjutant General, Oregon. “However, we are proud to say we continue to work with our elected officials and the National Guard Bureau as one team to properly take care of our Citizen-Soldiers.”

The bonus orders have been issued for 10 of the 19 Guard members affected.
They are scheduled to receive payment in the next few weeks.
